Lampung Provincial Gov. and Bakrie Power Sign LoI for NRE Investment

The Lampung Provincial Government and PT Bakrie Power signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) at the Lampung Economic and Investment Forum (LEIF) 2025 in Jakarta, Tuesday (November 4, 2025).
This agreement marks a concrete step in cooperation between the Lampung Provincial Government and the private sector, particularly in the development of new and renewable energy (EBT) investments in Lampung.
Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal stated that the signing of the LoI demonstrates the regional government’s commitment to strengthening the sustainable green energy sector. This aligns with the national energy transition agenda for a sustainable economy.
“This step is a strong signal to encourage environmentally friendly investments with long-term impacts on regional development,” he said.
The Lampung Provincial Government showcased 11 flagship investment projects. These include the Kemiling Agripark Development Plan, Bakauheni Harbour City, and the Floating Solar Power Plant. Then there are Starch Amilum Excipients in Medication Formula, Kota Baru Area, Sebalang Port, and Betan Subing Terminal & Double Track Railway. Then there are Batu Tumpang Tourism, Rajabasa Dharmacity, Way Kanan Industrial Park, and Gunung Tiga Geothermal Power Plant.
Furthermore, the provincial government is also opening investment opportunities in potential regional assets. These assets offer long-term development prospects in various sectors, from tourism and energy to the agricultural processing industry.
Mirza added that to support economic growth and investment, his office is focusing on “integrating and capitalizing” on existing infrastructure strengths. This infrastructure includes toll roads, ports, and logistics networks.
“We want to make Lampung an investment-friendly region with a clear development direction,” he said.
Bimo Epyanto, Head of the Lampung Bank Indonesia Representative Office, stated that Lampung has strategic advantages in terms of location and port infrastructure. This supports sustainable investment growth.
“Lampung’s highly strategic location and improving logistics connectivity give it significant potential to attract quality investment,” he said.
Lampung: Potential for NRE Investment
Meanwhile, Imam Soejoedi, Expert Staff for Macroeconomics at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, assessed Lampung as a potential region, particularly for investment in the food and renewable energy sectors.
“If you want to invest in food commodities and green energy, Lampung is the right choice,” said Imam.
He added that collaboration between various parties is crucial to supporting the success of the investment sector in a region. “Cross-sector collaboration between the government, private sector, and MSMEs is key to creating a productive investment value chain in the region,” he concluded.
