The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) recorded that investment realization in Indonesia’s renewable energy (EBT) sector in the first half of 2025 reached approximately US$1.3 billion, or approximately Rp 21.64 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp 16,651 per US$).

Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Dirjen EBTKE), Eniya Listiani Dewi, stated that the EBT investment target for this year is set at US$1.5 billion. Therefore, she is optimistic that this target will be achieved.

“Currently, we have achieved US$1.3 billion in the first half, and our target by the end of the year is US$1.5 billion. And I think this will be achieved soon,” Eniya said on CNBC Indonesia’s Prabowonomics program, quoted on Monday (November 3, 2025).

Furthermore, Eniya revealed that investor interest in the renewable energy sector continues to grow, particularly in solar power plant (PLTS) and geothermal projects. According to her, these two sectors are the largest contributors to Indonesia’s green energy investment portfolio this year.

“And in terms of interest, the largest investment interest currently lies in solar power plants and also geothermal. Geothermal investment is also accelerating tremendously,” she added.
