Bakrie Metal Industries Completes Mas Mansyur JPO Project
PT Bakrie Metal Industries (BMI), as a contractor from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Highways Service, has successfully completed construction work on the Mas Mansyur pedestrian bridge (JPO), on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. The footbridge connecting the Karet and Setiabudi areas has been under construction since March 20 2024.
Acting DKI Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi in his speech said that the Mas Mansyur JPO was built by adopting the history of the local location. The bridge, whose construction cost IDR 19 billion, adopted a rubber plant design.
“I would like to thank all parties. Hopefully with the construction of these JPOs we can make Jakarta a global city,” he said.
Deputy President Director of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk. (BNBR) A. Ardiansyah Bakrie, parent company of PT Bakrie Metal Industries (BMI), expressed his gratitude that the JPO construction process could run smoothly from start to finish. “Thank God, the JPO construction process was able to run smoothly from start to finish, and we were able to complete this project on time,” said Ardi Bakrie, at the event location, Tuesday (10/12/2024).
Ardi Bakrie added that the completion of the construction of the Mas Mansyur JPO is a manifestation of BNBR Group’s commitment to supporting the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to help develop quality, safe, comfortable and aesthetic urban infrastructure. “Pedestrian safety and comfort is a top priority, as are aspects of beauty that will help beautify the face of the city of Jakarta,” he said.
President Director & CEO of PT Bakrie Metal Industries (BMI) R. Atok Hendrayanto added that the Mas Mansyur JPO was built with a design concept adopted from rubber plants. Especially the part of the rubber tree trunk that has grooves for sap, which is called latex.
“The extraction of latex sap from rubber trees generally takes the form of distinctive circular streaks on the trunk of the tree, where these streaks are made into artistic designs that circle around the girder or body of the bridge,” he explained.
Atok said, this footbridge is 39.6 meters long, 3 meters wide and 5.5 meters high. Apart from that, this JPO is also equipped with 2 lifts with a maximum load of 1,000 kilograms, videotron and CCTV.
“Adorned with artistic lights, this JPO will look beautiful at night,” he added.
Apart from the Mas Mansyur JPO, PT Bakrie Metal Industries has also previously completed 2 JPO units. Namely the Klender JPO and Marunda JPO, each of which will be completed in 2023.
