PT Transportasi Jakarta or Transjakarta will bring in 400 new buses including 200 electric buses by the end of 2024.

Transjakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph said the number of buses that will operate by the end of the year will increase by around 400 units with 200 electric buses.

“That’s right, 200 electric buses. Later there will be around a hundred microtrans buses and another hundred medium buses,” Joseph told reporters, quoted on Sunday (1/9/2024).

The addition of this bus fleet will also boost the number of Transjakarta passengers by up to 8,000 customers. Joseph said the 400 fleet units will be able to transport 200 customers in one day.

Meanwhile, by the end of the year, Transjakarta is targeting an average of 1.7 million passengers per day. Until August, the number of passengers reached 1.3 million per day.

The August achievement has exceeded the initial target of 1.25 million passengers per day.

“We set two target models. First, we pursued the figure of 1.25 million per day. It has been achieved. So we made the next target more optimistic, namely 1.7 million passengers,” he said. In addition to adding bus fleets, the target will also be achieved by opening new routes, including routes that have been inactive since Covid-19.
