PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) is increasingly showing its seriousness in promoting transition efforts towards the use of green energy. This is proven by BNBR’s full support for the Envision Racing Formula E Team which is competing in the 2023 Jakarta E-Prix ABB Formula E World Championship, Jakarta, Sunday (4/5/2023). The team based in Silverstone Park, England, is team 0 under the world’s leading green technology company and net zero emission technology provider, Envision Group, which is now a partner with BNBR.

“Envision Group consistently promotes wind and solar energy as the ‘new coal’, batteries and hydrogen as the ‘new petroleum’, and AIoT as the ‘new grid solution’. “I think the Formula E slogan is very interesting, ‘We are racing against the climate crisis’, this has a very symbolic meaning, and indeed we are racing against climate change,” said BNBR President Director & CEO Anindya Bakrie, to journalists, on the sidelines of the Formula event. Net Zero Industrial Park

Meanwhile, in the same place, Founder and CEO of Envision Group, Lei Zhang, said that together with BNBR, his party would develop the first Net Zero Industrial Park in Southeast Asia, which will be built in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This Carbon Neutral Industrial Park (or Net Zero Industrial Park) will use green energy, such as wind and solar power, to be used in nickel ore refining, refining, as well as battery material manufacturing and battery recycling activities.

“So we are not only building an energy ecosystem, but also bringing a battery ecosystem with Bakrie to Indonesia,” Lei told reporters.

Furthermore, Lei explained, among a number of countries in Southeast Asia, Indonesia was chosen because it has an extraordinary future. “Indonesia has abundant natural resources underground such as nickel, copper and luna, as well as natural resources above ground such as wind, solar and hydro energy. “We collaborate especially with our partner Bakrie, because they are the first in this green energy transformation, and together we will definitely be able to shape a new landscape here,” said Lei.

In line with that, Anindya Bakrie added that his party is very happy to collaborate with Envision Group. Because, through this collaboration, they can at least start to encourage Indonesia to transform towards a greener future.

“The first Net Zero Industrial Area in Southeast Asia which will be built in South Sulawesi will be used to process nickel material which will then be processed at the Giga Factory which is under the Envision Group which is spread across England, Spain, France and also the United States, this is globalization in “The form is the best,” said Anin.

Anin said that his party also plans to collaborate in artificial intelligence of technology (AIoT), which is also the backbone for the development of the green energy ecosystem and electric vehicles. “We see the possibility of developing Net Zero digital solutions in Indonesia, by comprehensively utilizing the system that has been created by Envision Digital. The digital aspect of the green industrial revolution is so large, not many people even know that in every electric vehicle there are at least 3,000 chips , very digital,” said Anin.
