Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia menawarkan para investor untuk memanfaatkan pulau-pulau di Indonesia sebagai lokasi pembangunan data center atau pusat data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bahlil mengatakan, Indonesia memiliki wilayah yang luas dengan banyak pulau yang masih dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan investasi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBapak-ibu semua, tidak perlu ragu para investor kalau membangun data center di Indonesia. Wilayah kami ini wilayah yang terbesar di kawasan Asia Tenggara, pulau kami masih terlalu banyak,\u201d ujar Bahlil dalam acara Electricity Connect 2026 yang digelar di Tangerang, Banten, Selasa (22\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Selain wilayah yang luas, Indonesia memiliki potensi energi yang dapat mendukung operasional data center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Potensi tersebut antara lain berasal dari matahari, air, panas bumi, dan angin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bahlil juga menyebut biaya produksi listrik di Indonesia akan lebih kompetitif dibandingkan negara-negara lain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKami akan memberikan kemudahan-kemudahan bagi bapak-ibu semua,\u201d ucap Bahlil di hadapan para audiens Electricity Connect 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PLN Siapkan Kebutuhan Listrik Data Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kepastian pasokan listrik menjadi salah satu aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pembangunan data center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bahlil memastikan pemenuhan kebutuhan listrik untuk data center tidak menjadi masalah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Begitu mereka menyampaikan keinginannya, terus ditambah berapa kapasitas kebutuhan listrik yang dibutuhkan, pasti PLN akan menyiapkan,\" ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pasar Data Center Indonesia<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kementerian Investasi dan Hilirisasi\/Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) sebelumnya menawarkan peluang investasi pusat data di Indonesia kepada investor China dalam forum bisnis Indonesia-China Partnership Forum di Jakarta, Kamis (23\/7).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputi Bidang Pelayanan Penanaman Modal Kementerian Investasi dan Hilirisasi\/BKPM Andi Maulana mengatakan, perkembangan data center menjadi salah satu peluang investasi yang menjanjikan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peluang tersebut didukung pertumbuhan ekonomi digital Indonesia yang termasuk tercepat di Asia Tenggara.\n\nBerdasarkan paparan BKPM yang mengutip Mordor Intelligence, nilai pasar data center Indonesia mencapai sekitar 1,44 miliar dolar AS pada 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nilai tersebut diperkirakan meningkat menjadi 1,83 miliar dolar AS pada 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pasar data center Indonesia diproyeksikan terus tumbuh menjadi 3,48 miliar dolar AS pada 2031. Laju pertumbuhan tahunan majemuk (compound annual growth rate\/CAGR) diperkirakan mencapai 13,71 persen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bahlil noted that Indonesia possesses a vast territory with numerous islands that remain available for investment purposes. “Ladies and gentlemen, investors need not hesitate to build data centers in Indonesia. We have the largest territory in Southeast Asia, and we still have an abundance of islands,” said Bahlil during the Electricity Connect 2026 event held in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday (September 22, 2026). In addition to its vast territory, Indonesia possesses energy potential capable of supporting data center operations. This potential includes sources such as solar, hydro, geothermal, and wind energy. Bahlil also mentioned that electricity production costs in Indonesia would be more competitive compared to other countries. “We will provide facilities and incentives for all of you,” Bahlil stated before the Electricity Connect 2026 audience. PLN Prepares to Meet Data Center Electricity Needs Reliable electricity supply is a crucial aspect to consider when constructing data centers. Bahlil assured that meeting the electricity requirements for data centers would not be an issue. “Once they express their interest and specify the required electricity capacity, PLN will certainly make the necessary preparations,” he said. Indonesia’s Data Center Market The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming\/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) previously presented data center investment opportunities in Indonesia to Chinese investors during the Indonesia-China Partnership Forum in Jakarta on Thursday (July 23). Andi Maulana, Deputy for Investment Services at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming\/BKPM, stated that data center development represents a promising investment opportunity. This opportunity is supported by the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy, which is among the fastest in Southeast Asia. According to a presentation by BKPM citing Mordor Intelligence, Indonesia’s data center market value is set to reach approximately US$1.44 billion in 2025. This figure is expected to rise to US$1.83 billion in 2026. Indonesia’s data center market is projected to continue growing, reaching US$3.48 billion by 2031, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) estimated at 13.71 percent.
