Namun, pertumbuhan permintaannya turun 1% per tahun sejak 2 tahun terakhir ini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Jadi perkiraan kami bahkan di tahun 2030 itu kebutuhan nikel untuk baterai tidak lebih dari 20% saja. Itu mungkin nantinya akan menjadi tantangan dan bahan diskusi dengan pemerintah terkait produk MHP kita ke depannya,\" kata Arif dalam Bisnis Indonesia Forum (BIF), Kamis (20\/11\/2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Produk nikel MHP atau mixed hydroxide precipitate merupakan bahan baku krusial dalam rantai pasok produksi baterai EV. MHP umumnya diproduksi dari hasil pengolahan nikel kadar rendah melalui teknologi high pressure acid leaching (HPAL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adapun, saat ini terdapat tiga smelter HPAL di Indonesia yang telah beroperasi dengan kapasitas terpasang mencapai 445.000 ton per tahun. Arif memproyeksi akan ada tambahan produk MHP sebanyak 30.000 ton dalam waktu dekat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam catatan Kementerian Investasi dan Hilirisasi\/BKPM, smelter HPAL tumbuh ekspansif di mana saat ini terdapat 22 fasilitas pemurnian yang tengah dalam tahap konstruksi. Dengan proyek tersebut, pada 2027, akan ada tambahan mencapai 450.000 ton atau dua kali lipat dari kapasitas saat ini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Jadi penambahannya kurang lebih dua kali lipat sehingga di akhir tahun 2027 ini perkiraan produk MHP yang akan dihasilkan oleh Indonesia itu sekitar 940.000,\" tuturnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sementara itu, produksi nikel dari smelter rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) mencapai 2,5 juta ton dari total 170-an perusahaan smelter di Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Di sisi lain, industri nikel juga menghadapi tantangan di mana adanya ketergantungan pada sektor stainless steel sebagai penyerap utama nikel. Currently, there are three HPAL smelters operating in Indonesia with an installed annual capacity of 445,000 tons. Arif projects an additional 30,000 tons of MHP production in the near future. According to the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), HPAL smelters are growing expansively, with 22 refining facilities currently under construction. With this project, by 2027, the production will reach 450,000 tons, doubling the current capacity. &#8220;So, the increase is approximately twofold, so by the end of 2027, Indonesia&#8217;s estimated MHP production will be around 940,000 tons,&#8221; he said. Meanwhile, nickel production from rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) smelters has reached 2.5 million tons from a total of around 170 smelter companies in Indonesia. On the other hand, the nickel industry also faces challenges due to its dependence on the stainless steel sector as the primary nickel supplier.
