Rencana pemerintah memperkenalkan bahan bakar campuran etanol 10% (E10) dinilai sebagai terobosan penting dalam upaya transisi energi nasional. Selain berpotensi menekan emisi karbon, kebijakan ini juga membuka peluang bagi industri otomotif dan energi untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan era bahan bakar hijau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pemerhati otomotif sekaligus pembalap reli nasional Sunny Boy Hutabarat menilai langkah Indonesia menuju penggunaan bahan bakar beretanol merupakan babak baru dalam sejarah otomotif nasional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Dari kacamata pemerhati, pecinta otomotif, dan pereli, saya melihat kebijakan ini sebagai transformasi yang baik. Kita selalu dituntut menuju green energy demi masa depan yang lebih baik bagi lingkungan,\" ujar Sunny di Jakarta, Minggu (19\/10\/2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Menurutnya, penggunaan bahan bakar E10 bukan hanya ramah lingkungan, tetapi juga memiliki manfaat teknis dalam hal kualitas pembakaran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Pembakarannya lebih bersih. Kalau pembakaran lebih bersih, otomatis emisi karbon dari kendaraan juga menurun,\" jelasnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunny menjelaskan, secara teknis bahan bakar beretanol memiliki karakteristik berbeda dibanding bensin murni. Meski konsumsi bahan bakar sedikit lebih tinggi, hasil pembakarannya lebih bersih karena kandungan oksigen di dalam etanol lebih besar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Saya pernah pakai E10 waktu di Eropa, throttle responnya halus banget. Sama seperti bensin biasa, malah lebih lembut,\" tambahnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ia mencontohkan, di negara-negara seperti Eropa, Amerika Serikat, India, dan Thailand, penggunaan bahan bakar campuran etanol sudah menjadi hal umum - bahkan mencapai kadar E20 hingga E85. Karena itu, ia menilai sosialisasi yang masif penting agar masyarakat tidak salah persepsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Transformasi energi ini harus kita dukung. Jangan lihat etanol sebagai ancaman, tapi sebagai solusi masa depan energi Indonesia,\" tegasnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Langkah Indonesia menuju E10 sejalan dengan kebijakan transisi energi bersih yang tengah dijalankan Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automotive observer and national rally driver Sunny Boy Hutabarat believes Indonesia’s move towards using ethanol fuel represents a new chapter in the nation’s automotive history. “From the perspective of an observer, automotive enthusiast, and rally driver, I see this policy as a positive transformation. We are always being urged to move towards green energy for a better future for the environment,” said Sunny in Jakarta on Sunday (10\/19\/2025). According to him, the use of E10 fuel is not only environmentally friendly but also offers technical benefits in terms of combustion quality. “The combustion is cleaner. If combustion is cleaner, carbon emissions from vehicles will automatically decrease,” he explained. Sunny explained that technically, ethanol fuel has different characteristics than pure gasoline. Although fuel consumption is slightly higher, it burns cleaner due to the higher oxygen content in ethanol. “I’ve used E10 in Europe, and the throttle response is very smooth. It’s just like regular gasoline, even smoother,” he added. He cited examples of countries such as Europe, the United States, India, and Thailand where the use of ethanol blended fuels is commonplace\u2014even reaching levels of E20 to E85. Therefore, he believes extensive public awareness is crucial to avoid misperceptions. “We must support this energy transformation. Don’t view ethanol as a threat, but as a solution for Indonesia’s energy future,” he emphasized. Indonesia’s move towards E10 aligns with the clean energy transition policy currently being implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The government is targeting an increase in the mix of new, renewable energy (EBT) while reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels.
