Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) menyatakan pihaknya terus mengupayakan agar produk baja buatan tanah air terserap secara optimal di pasar domestik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sekretaris Jenderal Kemenperin Eko Cahyanto dalam acara Iron Steel Summit and Exhibition 2025 di Jakarta, Rabu, menyampaikan saat ini banyak produk serupa dari China dan Vietnam dijual dengan harga yang lebih murah di dalam negeri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Hari ini kita masih dibanjiri produk-produk serupa dari China, dari Vietnam. Kalau kita perhatikan, barang itu diproduksi di sana, dibawa ke pelabuhan, dibawa lagi ke sini, tapi kenapa mereka harganya masih lebih murah,\" kata dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oleh karena itu, pihaknya mendorong untuk disusun sebuah strategi besar agar bisa mendorong peningkatan daya saing industri baja dalam negeri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eko menyampaikan pihaknya berkomitmen untuk menjaga iklim industri domestik terus tumbuh, supaya kekosongan dalam pohon industri baja bisa terisi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Perlu ada upaya untuk peningkatan daya saingnya. Dari sisi kualitas dan dari sisi teknologinya industri baja kita sudah mampu,\" ujarnya pula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lebih lanjut, disampaikannya, ada empat isu utama terkait keberlanjutan pada industri baja, yakni dekarbonisasi, ekonomi sirkular, efisiensi energi, dan kelebihan kapasitas global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eko menjelaskan industri baja secara nasional menyumbang sekitar 4,66 persen dari total emisi, sehingga dekarbonisasi memerlukan perubahan signifikan dari metode konvensional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meski demikian, saat ini terdapat tren positif ke arah pemanfaatan teknologi produksi yang menghasilkan lebih sedikit karbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adapun secara global, industri baja menghadapi kelebihan kapasitas sekitar 625 juta ton metrik, namun sebagian besar produk yang dihasilkan berasal dari China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kelebihan pasokan ini menciptakan tekanan harga serta menghambat investasi pada teknologi ramah lingkungan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Industri logam dasar terus konsisten menunjukkan kinerja yang gemilang, terlihat dari pertumbuhannya paling tinggi dibanding sektor lainnya, dengan mencapai angka 18,07 persen pada semester I 2024.\n\n\nPertumbuhan ini didorong tingginya permintaan domestik dan luar negeri. Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Eko Cahyanto at the Iron Steel Summit and Exhibition 2025 in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that currently many similar products from China and Vietnam are sold at cheaper prices domestically. “Today we are still flooded with similar products from China, from Vietnam. If we pay attention, the goods are produced there, brought to the port, brought back here, but why are their prices still cheaper,” he said. Therefore, his party is pushing for a grand strategy to be developed to encourage increased competitiveness of the domestic steel industry. Eko said that his party is committed to maintaining the climate of the domestic industry to continue to grow, so that the gaps in the steel industry tree can be filled. “There needs to be an effort to increase its competitiveness. In terms of quality and technology, our steel industry is already capable,” he also said. Furthermore, he said, there are four main issues related to sustainability in the steel industry, namely decarbonization, circular economy, energy efficiency, and global excess capacity. Eko explained that the national steel industry contributes around 4.66 percent of total emissions, so decarbonization requires significant changes from conventional methods. However, currently there is a positive trend towards the use of production technology that produces less carbon. Globally, the steel industry faces an overcapacity of around 625 million metric tons, but most of the products produced come from China. This oversupply creates price pressure and hinders investment in environmentally friendly technologies. The base metal industry continues to consistently show brilliant performance, as seen from its highest growth compared to other sectors, reaching 18.07 percent in the first semester of 2024. This growth is driven by high domestic and foreign demand.
