Di mana memang sangat sulit untuk memproduksi, karena sudah terkena gempuran impor yang cukup besar,\u201d kata Kepala Pusat Industri, Perdagangan dan Investasi di Indef Andry Satrio Nugroho melansir Antara, di Jakarta, Selasa (8\/10\/2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dia mengungkapkan, kondisi industri baja China di dalam negeri tengah menurun imbas anjloknya permintaan domestik. Kondisi ini yang membuka peluang negara tersebut untuk memperluas ekspor ke berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia dengan harga sangat murah (dumping).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Karena over supply tentu mereka akan mengarahkan atau mengekspor produksinya ke luar negara. Salah satu market yang cukup potensial untuk dipenetrasi adalah Indonesia,\" jelas dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oleh karena itu, menurut dia, perlindungan pemerintah terhadap baja dalam negeri sangat dibutuhkan, kalau tidak, industri baja di negeri ini bisa gulung tikar akibat gempuran baja impor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Negara-negara lain, katanya pula, sudah mengambil langkah-langkah protektif untuk melindungi industri baja dalam negeri seperti Amerika Serikat, Uni Eropa, dan Kanada yang telah menerapkan Bea Masuk Antidumping (BMAD) dan tarif tinggi terhadap produk baja China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Banyak sekali instrumen-instrumen trade remedies yang diberikan di berbagai negara. Sedangkan Indonesia masih sangat sedikit perlindungannya,\" katanya lagi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Menurut dia, Pemerintah Indonesia perlu melakukan hal yang sama, seperti dalam bentuk safeguard atau dalam bentuk pengenaan Bea Masuk Antidumping (BMAD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Dan juga, kita bisa dorong terkait dengan sertifikasi lainnya,\" ujar Andry melalui sambungan telepon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andry mengingatkan, jika banjir baja impor dibiarkan, tidak hanya membuat industri baja dalam negeri gulung tikar sekaligus ancaman PHK massal, namun sektor usaha lain juga akan terimbas seperti para distributor baja serta industri lain yang terkait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perlindungan pemerintah terhadap industri baja, katanya lagi, akan berdampak positif pada iklim investasi. Jika industri bisa tumbuh diharapkan pertumbuhan ekonomi ke depan juga bisa meningkat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Dengan perlindungan pasar di dalam negeri, utilisasi produksi bisa meningkat. Ini bisa memberikan gairah kepada investor untuk masuk. Investor akan merasa bahwa selain pasar dalam negeri cukup besar, juga dari sisi kompetisi cukup baik. Jadi itu yang kita harapkan di Pemerintahan yang baru,\" kata dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presiden Direktur PT Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) Fedaus menambahkan, industri baja tanah air berharap perlindungan dari pemerintah, apalagi industri ini merupakan tulang punggung pembangunan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
