Jenama asal China PT BYD Motor Indonesia memberi sinyal akan memproduksi baterai kendaraan listrik (electric vehicle\/EV) di Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head of Marketing & Communication PT BYD Motor Indonesia Luther T. Panjaitan mengatakan pihaknya tengah mengembangkan studi komprehensif terkait produksi lokal baterai EV tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Ya, kalau baterai itu beberapa pertimbangan yang kami juga lagi kalkulasi dan riset, karena itu road map yang panjang ya, dan itu butuh comprehensive study juga terhadap demand-nya,\u201d ujar Luther di sela acara Media Drive BYD M6 di Bandung, Kamis (8\/8\/2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lebih lanjut dia mengatakan, dengan latar belakang BYD yang sejatinya merupakan produsen baterai terbesar di dunia, maka perseroan siap untuk memproduksi lokal baterai EV di Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"It\u2019s only matter of research saja, studi terhadap market. Jadi ketika semuanya sudah siap dan memang suatu keniscayaan, ya tentunya kami harusnya lebih siap ya karena kami produsen baterai,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sebagai informasi, BYD memulai bisnisnya sebagai penyedia baterai isi ulang pada 1995. Setahun setelahnya, BYD memasuki bisnis sebagai produsen baterai litium-ion untuk ponsel. Barulah pada 2003, BYD mengumumkan masuk ke manufaktur otomotif dan mengembangkan mobil-mobil penumpang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saat ini, di Indonesia sudah ada produsen baterai EV, yakni konsorsium Hyundai dan LG Energy yang siap mengoperasikan pabrik ekosistem baterai mobil listrik di Cikarang dan Karawang, Jawa Barat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fasilitas pertama yang dibangun itu dioperasikan oleh PT HKML Battery. Total investasi mencapai US$1,1 miliar, setara Rp15,6 triliun, dengan kapasitas produksi sel baterai mencapai 10 GWh per tahun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Selain itu, Hyundai juga membangun fasilitas packing baterai yang berlokasi di Cikarang, Jawa Barat. PT Hyundai Energy Indonesia yang menjalankan fasilitas produksi packing itu menelan investasi sebesar US$60 juta, atau sekitar Rp900 miliar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tak hanya Hyundai, ada juga PT Indonesia BTR New Energy Material sebagai produsen anoda untuk baterai kendaraan listrik di Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Kendal, Jawa Tengah. Fasilitas produksi baterai itu telah diresmikan Presiden Joko Widodo kemarin, 7 Agustus 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PT Indonesia BTR New Energy Material adalah anak usaha dari BTR New Material Group, perusahaan asal China yang merupakan salah satu produsen utama komponen anoda di dunia. Investasi perusahaan ini di Indonesia dilakukan dalam dua tahap, dengan nilai US$478 juta pada tahap pertama dan US$299 juta pada tahap kedua.\n\nSementara itu, BYD Indonesia pada bulan lalu telah menandatangani nota kesepahaman untuk membangun fasilitas manufaktur berkapasitas 150.000 unit per tahun di Subang Smartpolitan, Jawa Barat. PT BYD Motor Indonesia Head of Marketing & Communication Luther T. Panjaitan said that his party is currently developing a comprehensive study regarding local production of EV batteries. “Yes, there are several considerations for batteries that we are also calculating and researching, because it’s a long road map, and it also requires a comprehensive study of demand,” said Luther on the sidelines of the BYD M6 Media Drive event in Bandung, Thursday ( 8\/8\/2024). He further said, with BYD’s background, which is actually the largest battery producer in the world, the company is ready to produce EV batteries locally in Indonesia. “It’s only a matter of research, studying the market. So when everything is ready and it is a necessity, of course we should be better prepared, because we are battery manufacturers,” he explained. For your information, BYD started its business as a provider of rechargeable batteries in 1995. A year later, BYD entered the business as a manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries for cellphones. It was only in 2003 that BYD announced it was entering automotive manufacturing and developing passenger cars. Currently, in Indonesia there are EV battery manufacturers, namely the Hyundai and LG Energy consortium, which are ready to operate electric car battery ecosystem factories in Cikarang and Karawang, West Java. The first facility built was operated by PT HKML Battery. The total investment reaches US$1.1 billion, equivalent to IDR 15.6 trillion, with a battery cell production capacity of up to 10 GWh per year. Apart from that, Hyundai is also building a battery packing facility located in Cikarang, West Java. PT Hyundai Energy Indonesia, which runs the packing production facility, has invested US$ 60 million, or around Rp. 900 billion.
