Di tengah industri otomotif Indonesia yang melesu di kuartal pertama tahun 2024 ini, Pengamat Otomotif sekaligus akademisi Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Yannes Martinus Pasaribu mengatakan Tanah Air masih menjanjikan bagi investor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saat dihubungi ANTARA dari Jakarta, Rabu, Yannes menyebut Indonesia masih unggul dengan memiliki populasi terbesar keempat di dunia, dengan kelas menengah - sebagai segmen pembeli terbesar - yang terus bertumbuh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPenurunan awal tahun ini tidak semestinya menjadi indikator permanen yang menyurutkan minat pabrikan untuk berinvestasi di Indonesia. Kita memiliki populasi terbesar keempat di dunia, dengan kelas menengah yang terus bertumbuh. Hal ini menunjukkan potensi pasar otomotif yang sangat besar dan menjanjikan bagi investor,\u201d kata dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Penurunan signifikan dari penjualan sektor otomotif di awal tahun ini, menurut Yannes, disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya ketidakpastian ekonomi akibat pemilu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daya beli masyarakat pun turut melemah, mempersempit ruang bagi pembelian kendaraan. Kenaikan harga kendaraan yang tak terelakkan akibat inflasi, pajak, dan kelangkaan chip semikonduktor semakin memberatkan situasi. Di sisi lain, gangguan rantai pasokan global turut memperparah keadaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBerbagai faktor berkontribusi terhadap situasi ini, mulai dari ketidakpastian ekonomi akibat pemilu, menjadi salah satu faktor utama, menyebabkan konsumen menunda pengeluaran besar, termasuk pembelian kendaraan yang bertambah mahal dengan bunga kredit yang semakin tinggi,\u201d ujar Yannes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asosiasi kendaraan bermotor di Indonesia, Gabungan Industri Kendaraan Bermotor Indonesia (GAIKINDO) mencatat penjualan retail sepanjang Januari hingga Mei 2024 membukukan hasil 361.698 unit. Pencapaian ini turun 14,4 persen dibanding Januari-Mei 2023 yang tercatat sebanyak 422.514 unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
