Kombinasi antara Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) dengan baterai akan menghasilkan energi terjangkau dan akan menyelesaikan permasalahan energi di dunia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Itu sebabnya, tren pengembangan PLTS diprediksi akan terus meningkat ke depannya. Terlebih harga teknologi PLTS saat ini jauh lebih murah 90% jika dibandingkan satu dekade terakhir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seperti diberitakan Kompas.com, Bos SpaceX dan Tesla Inc Elon Musk mengatakan, pengembangan PLTS saat ini didukung harga yang semakin murah. Selain itu, harga baterai juga mengalami penurunan hingga 10 kali lipat dalam lima tahun terakhir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk menambahkan, potensi sinar matahari yang begitu besar dan sangat melimpah bisa menjadi sumber energi bersih yang mencukupi kebutuhan energi manusia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Setiap harinya, 1 kilometer persegi permukaan bumi menerima radiasi sinar matahari sekitar 1 gigawatt (GW). Jika dimaksimalkan, energi yang bisa dihasilkan mencapai 1 gigatwatt jam (gwh) per 1 kilometer persegi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Direktur Jenderal Energi Baru Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi (Dirjen EBTKE) Kementerian ESDM, Eniya Listiani Dewi sepakat bahwa harga PLTS memang akan semakin turun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Kalau demand makin tinggi di seluruh dunia, pasti (harga) semakin turun,\" kata Eniya ke KONTAN, Selasa (21\/5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sementara itu, Direktur Eksekutif Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) Fabby Tumiwa menuturkan, harga teknologi PLTS memang jauh lebih murah dibandingkan dengan satu dekade lalu yang turun lebih dari 90%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Menurut Fabby, saat ini harga listrik yang dihasilkan oleh PLTS merupakan yang termurah dibandingkan energi bersih lain. Hanya saja, karena sumber listriknya dari sinar matahari, pasokannya tidak konstan lantaran dipengaruhi oleh awan, cuaca, dan musim sehingga listrik yang dihasilkan PLTS memiliki sifat intermiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Karena bersifat intermiten, maka untuk menggunakan listrik tenaga surya dalam waktu yang lama atau agar menyediakan listrik 24 jam diperlukan teknologi baterai,\" katanya ke KONTAN, Selasa (21\/5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fabby menuturkan, baterai berguna untuk menyimpan listrik agar bisa dipakai kapan pun saat diperlukan, baik di malam hari saat tidak ada sinar matahari atau saat cuaca sedang tidak mendukung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Untuk itu, kata Fabby, PLTS perlu dilengkapi baterai untuk bisa menghasilkan keluaran daya yang konstan. Sebab, kombinasi PLTS dan baterai akan menghasilkan harga listrik yang lebih murah daripada gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bahkan, hampir di seluruh negara-negara sudah menggunakan dua kombinasi ini, seperti di China sebagai negara dengan pertumbuhan PLTS tertinggi. Di Eropa yang memiliki empat musim pun menggunakan dua kombinasi ini, seperti di Jerman, Polandia, dan negara Eropa lain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Selain itu, negara lain seperti Amerika Serikat dan negara-negara Asia, seperti China dan India. Untuk di Asia Tenggara, Vietnam menjadi negara dengan pertumbuhan PLTS tertinggi. Adapun di Australia, jumlah PLTS rooftop hampir mencapai 2,5 juta rumah tangga menggunakan PLTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, because the electricity source is sunlight, the supply is not constant because it is influenced by clouds, weather and seasons, so the electricity produced by PLTS is intermittent. “Because it is intermittent, to use solar electricity for a long time or to provide 24-hour electricity, battery technology is needed,” he said to KONTAN, Tuesday (21\/5). Fabby said that batteries are useful for storing electricity so that they can be used whenever needed, either at night when there is no sunlight or when the weather is unfavorable. For this reason, said Fabby, PLTS needs to be equipped with batteries to be able to produce constant power output.
