Kali ini, sektor teknologi baterai yang menjadi gilirannya. Ini terlihat dengan penandatanganan Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) VKTR dengan Pusat Unggulan Iptek \u2013 Perguruan Tinggi Teknologi Penyimpanan Energi Listrik (PUI-PT TPEL) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), di Surakarta, Jawa Tengah, Kamis (1\/12\/2022). Penandatanganan dilakukan oleh Direktur Utama VKTR Gilarsi W. Setijono dan Ketua PUI-PT TPEL UNS Prof. Agus Purwanto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gilarsi mengatakan, penandatanganan ini merupakan tahap lanjutan bagi kedua pihak dalam pengembangan teknologi baterai; mulai dari nickel processing, recycling hingga komersialisasi produk baterai. Secara lebih rinci, kerja bareng ini akan dikhususkan kepada pengembangan battery material mulai dari bijih nikel menjadi P-CAM (Precursor Cathode Active Material), P-CAM menjadi CAM (Cathode Active Material), CAM menjadi cell baterai, hingga proses daur ulang baterai yang habis masa pakainya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSelain itu, kami VKTR bersama UNS juga terus mempererat kerja sama dengan PENS (Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya) dalam pengembangan baterai dari module to pack, dan termasuk yang lebih utama adalah pengembangan battery management system (BMS) nya,\u201d jelas Gilarsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merinci penjelasannya, Gilarsi mengatakan yang dimaksud dengan battery materials adalah bahan\u2013bahan yang terkandung dalam baterai yang bertugas mengubah energi listrik dan menyimpannya dalam bentuk energi kimia. Sementara itu, Precursor Cathode Active Material (P-CAM) adalah campuran logam hidroksida dari nikel, kobalt, dan senyawa lain yang membentuk katode baterai. \u201cSedangkan Cathode Active Material (CAM) adalah bahan katoda baterai berupa campuran pCAM dan Lithium. Inilah bagian penting yang mendorong kinerja, menjaga keamanan, dan menentukan efisiensi biaya sebuah baterai lithium-ion,\u201d terangnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ke depan, lanjut Gilarsi, para pihak terbuka untuk memperluas kooperasi ini dengan mitra baru lainnya, demi dapat menunjang percepatan pengembangan teknologi baterai di tanah air. Pihak UNS nantinya mendapatkan dukungan fasilitas laboratorium penelitian di bidang teknologi baterai, pendanaan, peralatan, serta komponen material untuk joint development. \u201cSedangkan kami, VKTR antara lain akan mendapatkan tenaga peneliti, mahasiswa serta sumber daya lainnya untuk memperdalam riset pada ruang lingkup yang disepakati,\u201d kata Gilarsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Gilarsi, saat ini teknologi baterai masih sangat terbuka untuk dipelajari dan dikembangkan. Keterbatasan teknologi baterai saat ini ada di dua aspek, yakni aspek performa dan aspek harga bahan baku yang relatif mahal. \u201cJika dua hal ini bisa diatasi, kami yakin upaya pengembangan teknologi baterai akan maju pesat,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJika ditinjau lebih jauh, ada dua hal yang patut diperhatikan dalam aspek performa; yaitu kemampuan baterai dalam menghantarkan energi, serta banyaknya energi yang dapat disimpan\u201d, ucap Gilarsi menambahkan. Gilarsi juga menegaskan tentang pentingnya produk baterai yang dihasilkan harus tetap aman selama digunakan, tahan lama, cepat dalam pengisian daya, ramah lingkungan, dan murah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ketua PUI-PT TPEL UNS, Prof. Agus Purwanto mengatakan pihaknya menyambut baik peningkatan status kerja sama kedua institusi. Ia berharap, rencana dan aksi mereka ke depan akan semakin konkrit dan solid hingga dapat mencapai target-target yang telah ditetapkan. Menurutnya, kerja sama strategis antara UNS dan VKTR ini merupakan salah satu cara efektif untuk memperkuat budaya inovasi di kampusnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Kerja sama ini menjadi momentum penting bagi kami dalam menumbuh-kembangkan budaya inovasi di UNS. In more detail, this joint work will be devoted to the development of battery materials ranging from nickel ore to P-CAM (Precursor Cathode Active Material), P-CAM to CAM (Cathode Active Material), CAM to cell batteries, to the battery recycling process which expired. &#8220;Apart from that, we VKTR and UNS also continue to strengthen cooperation with PENS (Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya) in battery development from module to pack, and what is more important is the development of the battery management system (BMS),&#8221; explained Gilarsi. Detailing his explanation, Gilarsi said that what is meant by battery materials are materials contained in a battery whose job is to convert electrical energy and store it in the form of chemical energy. Meanwhile, Precursor Cathode Active Material (P-CAM) is a mixture of metal hydroxides from nickel, cobalt and other compounds that form the battery cathode. \u201cMeanwhile, Cathode Active Material (CAM) is a battery cathode material in the form of a mixture of pCAM and Lithium. This is an important part that drives performance, maintains safety, and determines the cost efficiency of a lithium-ion battery,&#8221; he explained. Going forward, continued Gilarsi, the parties are open to expanding this cooperation with other new partners, in order to be able to support the acceleration of the development of battery technology in the country. UNS will receive support from research laboratory facilities in the field of battery technology, funding, equipment, and material components for joint development. &#8220;Meanwhile, we, VKTR, among others, will get research staff, students and other resources to deepen research on the agreed scope,&#8221; said Gilarsi. According to Gilarsi, currently battery technology is still very much open to study and development. The limitations of current battery technology are in two aspects, namely the performance aspect and the raw material price aspect which is relatively expensive. &#8220;If these two things can be overcome, we are sure that efforts to develop battery technology will progress rapidly,&#8221; he said. \u201cIf reviewed further, there are two things that should be considered in terms of performance; namely the ability of the battery to deliver energy, as well as the amount of energy that can be stored,&#8221; Gilarsi added. Gilarsi also stressed the importance of the battery products produced must remain safe during use, durable, fast charging, environmentally friendly, and inexpensive. Head of PUI-PT TPEL UNS, Prof. Agus Purwanto said that his party welcomed the increase in the cooperation status of the two institutions. He hopes that their future plans and actions will be more concrete and solid so that they can achieve the targets that have been set. According to him, this strategic collaboration between UNS and VKTR is an effective way to strengthen the culture of innovation on campus. &#8220;This collaboration is an important momentum for us in cultivating a culture of innovation at UNS. More strategically, our role as an element of the academic world that synergizes with the business world \u2013 God willing, will also be recorded in gold ink; namely that we become one of the important actors in the process of building and developing the electrification industrial ecosystem in Indonesia,&#8221; said Agus closing the conversation.
